Below are answers to a series of questions we often get asked about our Liv In Good Company events. If your question isn’t covered below, please contact your local ride host for more information.
A social ride is exactly that; a ride dedicated to being social. It is a casual ride where like-minded cyclists get together to catch up and meet new people while enjoying a pedal. It is not a race, and it’s free for anyone to join.
This event is a women’s only event, and you must be at least 16 years of age to participate. If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you along!
If your local event includes a ride component, the recommended type of bike to bring will be listed as part of the event details. If you are unsure if your bike is suitable, please refer to your local ride details or speak to your local ride host.
In addition to your smiles and friendly faces, anything you need to bring will be listed in your local event details. If you are off on a ride don’t forget to bring spares, water, nutrition and anything else you usually bring with you. If you need a refresher on bike maintenance basics, like how to fix a flat, see our DIY tips or chat to the friendly team at your nearest Giant Dealer for a quick demo. And of course, don’t forget your bike.
If you are off on a ride then personal insurance is always recommended (especially if you are a regular cyclist). We suggest checking your relevant state’s governing body for cycling to find the best option for you. Treat a social ride as you would any ride with friends – ride safely and within your abilities.
If your local event is outdoors (for example, a ride), then we will be closely monitoring the weather in the lead up to the event. If we need to alter the event plan, or need to cancel the event on account of the weather, we will reach out and let you know as soon as possible. If your local event is indoors, then it will go ahead rain, hail or shine!
All registered participants will be notified of any major last minute changes via the email address provided. You will also receive a reminder email in the days leading up to the event to ensure you’re across the latest details.
Yes. Depending on which event you attend there may be a photographer or two in attendance to capture the fun. These images are used to celebrate the event on social media (for participants and organisers to share), as well as market future Liv events. Please speak to your local event organiser if you have any questions.
